位于西藏日喀则樟木镇的樟木口岸是中尼政治、经济、文化交流的重要窗口。地震前的樟木镇沿街商铺门庭若市，是国家批准的一类陆路口岸，也是西藏最大的陆路口岸。
2015年4月，尼泊尔加德满都的一场8.1级地震同样影响了樟木，昔日繁华的“小香港”顷刻间变得满目疮痍，随着受灾群众的撤离，驻守在口岸的聂拉木出入境边防检查站全体民警成了这里的守护者。
1月30日，在樟木口岸负责旅检通关等工作的执勤一队民警们吃过早饭，在副队长段秋宇的带领下，正在整理着装，检查验讫章，准备开始一天的勤务工作。安排好勤务的副队长段秋宇带领其他民警急忙赶往口岸限定区的商户，开展排查工作。
简单吃过午饭，段秋宇对下午的工作进行了安排。临近春节，队里需要开车去县城采购年货，他让民警刘华强、曾其明到边民群众家里走访，询问群众家里年货置办情况，还存在什么困难。
“口岸虽然恢复了商贸，但对面尼泊尔与我们的习俗不同，这里没有年货商品，需要驾车到60公里外的聂拉木县置办，山路崎岖，驾车来回要3个小时的时间。”在口岸工作20年的老民警刘华强说，“很多时候都是相互帮助，有时候我们也乘坐他们的车到县里买东西”。对于他们来说除了勤务工作，建立深厚警民关系，开展群众工作尤为重要。
在樟木口岸出入境大厅里，民警李东洪在验证台上认真查验每一位通关人员的相关证件。1998年出生的他偶尔也会羡慕生活在繁华都市中的同龄人，但他也有属于自己的“小确幸”。18岁时，李东洪怀着保家卫国的信念选择从军，边防部队转改后他成了一名移民管理警察。面对身份的转变，他笑着说，“我的初心还是没变，在这里工作，维护国门稳定是这身警服赋予自己的意义”。
离出入境大厅不远处，友谊桥横跨波曲河连接着中尼两国，桥上中尼两国的货车、人员来往不绝。民警邓涛正操着一口熟练的尼泊尔语与尼籍出入境人员沟通相关事宜。“会说尼语能为尼籍出入境人员提供更好的帮助。”提起如何学习尼泊尔语，邓涛如是说道，“从简单的单词开始学，再到完整的句子，发音就用拼音标注，慢慢就会了”。
夜幕降临，执勤一队的民警忙完一天的旅检和车检等勤务工作，终于下班。大家等到的不是民警下班休息的命令，段秋宇又安排民警准备夜间巡逻踏查任务。
“前段时间发生了一起翻越河流进行偷渡、走私的案件，加强夜间巡逻，能够有效震慑不法分子的违法犯罪行为。”民警张正凯说，“这样的巡逻我们习以为常了，大家也明白临近年关，勤务和防控压力倍增，晚上巡逻一下也好”。
2023年9月樟木口岸恢复客货双通，对于地震后一直坚守在口岸的民警意义重大，口岸的复通让他们备受鼓舞。经历过地震前樟木的繁华，守护8年时间的他们，终于看到樟木再次焕发生机，大家心里都憋着一股劲，希望通过自己的努力，再次将樟木建设成为“小香港”。(完)
